Zillow, Airbnb, Rightmove and Zoopla photo sizes

These are the sizes each preset exports to, taken from each portal's own help pages. Rules change, so check the source if a photo is rejected.

How to use it

  1. Choose the portal you are uploading to.
  2. Drop in your photos. Up to 50 at once, straight from the camera or your editor.
  3. Click resize. Each photo is scaled to fit the portal's maximum size and compressed under its file size.
  4. Download one photo, or the whole batch as a ZIP.

Why resize before you upload?

Portals resize oversized photos themselves, but not always well, and some reject files over their cap outright. Rightmove shows photos at up to 1024 pixels wide and prefers files under 1MB, while Zillow and most MLSs display up to 2048 x 1536. Exporting to the right size yourself keeps photos sharp, uploads fast, and avoids a rejected listing on launch day.

UK portals favour a 3:2 landscape frame and US portals a 4:3 one. This tool never crops, so frame your shots the way the portal displays them. For full MLS rules, including disclosure for virtual staging, read our MLS photo requirements guide.

Questions

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The resizer runs entirely in your browser using the canvas built into it. Your photos are never sent to PropertyPixel or anyone else, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
Will resizing crop my photos?
No. Each photo is scaled down to fit inside the portal's maximum width and height, keeping its shape. Portrait photos use the same limits turned on their side. Photos already smaller than the limit are not enlarged.
How does it hit the file-size limit?
After resizing, the tool saves a JPEG at high quality and, if the file is still over the portal's cap, steps the quality down until it fits. You get the best quality that stays under the limit. JPEGs that already fit the size and the cap are kept exactly as they are.
Which formats can I use?
JPG, PNG and WebP go in. Everything comes out as a JPEG, which every listing portal accepts. Transparent areas in PNGs are filled with white. iPhone HEIC and camera RAW files need exporting as JPEG first.
What size should Airbnb photos be?
Airbnb asks for at least 1200 x 800 pixels and says files up to about 10MB are fine. It publishes no maximum, so the Airbnb preset exports 2400 x 1600 (3:2), which clears both of Airbnb's stated minimums with room to spare.
What image size does Rightmove use?
Rightmove shows landscape photos at up to 1024 x 683 pixels (3:2), accepts up to 1024 pixels on either side, and prefers JPEGs under 1MB. The minimum is 656 x 437. The Rightmove preset exports to exactly those limits.
What size are Zillow photos?
Zillow accepts photos up to 2048 x 1536 pixels and asks for at least 1024 x 768, with files under 25MB. Zoopla's optimum is 1024 x 768 with a 5MB cap.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit beyond 50 photos per batch. If you want better lighting, sky replacement or virtual staging as well, that is what PropertyPixel's paid AI editing is for.
My MLS has different rules. What should I pick?
Start with the MLS preset, which follows the common 2048 x 1536 / 6MB rule, then check your board's rules. Our MLS photo requirements guide covers dimensions, file sizes and disclosure rules in detail.
